Guiding questions to begin an UndocuAlly Project for your campus

  • Has your campus ever hosted an UndocuAlly training? If so, who has been trained and how long ago?
  • Who should be trained first?
  • Is there funding to hire a consultant to help with training or to compensate in-house talent/experts? (i.e. UndocuLiaisons, Task force members)?
  • Consider the following questions around logistics:
  • Would your student staff have a role the day of the training?
  • How many trainings would you like to have per semester?
  • How long should your trainings be?
  • Who is going to be the trainer?
  • How will you include students’ experiences?
  • Can you partner with other departments to train at ongoing meetings they already have on their calendars?
  • Does it make sense for your college to provide training during Undocumented Student Action Week or Convocation Week?
  • What role will administrators have in the planning of training?
  • How can you advocate for compensation for full-time and part-time staff and faculty?
  • Does it make sense to have a training specific for student staff?
